American Gangster has a Cinova Score of 7.8 out of 10 from 11 ratings. That puts it at #102 in Drama and #274 of all movies on Cinova. Every rating comes from a real person ranking it against the other titles they have seen, so the number is a decimal, not a rounded star count.

Loosely based on the criminal career of Frank Lucas, a gangster from La Grange, North Carolina, who smuggled heroin into the United States on American service planes returning from the Vietnam War, before being detained by a task force led by Newark Detective Richie Roberts.

American Gangster was directed by Ridley Scott and released in 2007. It stars Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe and Josh Brolin.
