The Spirit of the Beehive

The Spirit of the Beehive is not on a subscription service in the US right now, but you can rent or buy it on Fandango. Cinova checks this every time you open the movie page.

The Spirit of the Beehive does not have a Cinova Score yet. A title needs at least 5 ratings before the community average shows, so for now the page shows a critic score of 7.0. Rate it in the app and you could be one of the first.

In 1940, in the immediate aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, a young girl living on the Castilian plain is haunted after attending a screening of James Whale's 1931 film Frankenstein and hearing from her sister that the monster is not dead, instead existing as a spirit inhabiting a nearby barn.

The Spirit of the Beehive was directed by Víctor Erice and released in 1973. It stars Ana Torrent, Fernando Fernán Gómez and Teresa Gimpera.
